The Mediterranean Diet for Parkinson's Programme is an online, on-demand nutrition education course designed for people living with Parkinson’s and their care partners. It explores how a Mediterranean-style diet can support Parkinson’s symptoms and overall wellbeing.
The programme is fully online and available through our NutritionPD learning platform. You can log in from any device — computer, tablet, or smartphone — and complete it at your own pace.
All sessions are pre-recorded videos, so you can watch them whenever it suits you. You don’t need to attend at a specific time.
The total video content is around one and a half hours, divided into short, easy-to-follow lessons. You have three months access to the programme so you can choose how long you wish to take to complete it.
We provide three months access for people to have the time to identify what areas they need to work on and to put them into practice. We know that when changing our diet habits people often try to change every thing at once. And whilst the changes may last for a few weeks, they are rarely sustained. So we recommend people set aside time each week to go through the modules rather than rushing through it. This way you can choose a habit to work on for a few weeks and then add another one and so on and you will see these changes building upon one another over the three months.
All content was created and reviewed by registered dietitians who specialise in Parkinson’s nutrition. The programme is presented by Kayla, a friendly digital avatar who guides you through each module. Kayla makes the information easy to follow and brings the learning to life through interactive visuals.
